Public Health
“Public health promotes and protects the health of people and the communities where they live, learn, work and play.” – American Public Health Association
Public health focuses on the health of the overall population. Public health professionals work hard to prevent people from getting sick or injured in the first place by promoting wellness and healthy behaviors, providing education and prevention strategies, developing health policies, ensuring healthy environmental conditions, and tracking disease outbreaks.
At Yamhill County, we promote the public’s physical, emotional and social well-being through services, prevention, education and partnerships.
Proud to be an AmeriCorps Host Site, PHAB-accredited health department, and NHSC Site.
