About Us
Yamhill County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) is sworn to protect and honored to serve the citizens of our county. The Sheriff’s Office has set a standard of “Exemplary Public Safety Service” through equipping, supporting, and empowering our people to do their best. Through mutually beneficial cooperative partnerships within our community, we are committed to problem-oriented policing with the goal of reducing the public safety concerns of our citizens and visitors.
Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office serves nearly 110,000 residents of the County with 100 employees. Yamhill County encompasses 718 square miles and includes the incorporated cities of Amity, Carlton, Dayton, Dundee, Lafayette, McMinnville, Newberg, Sheridan, Willamina, and Yamhill. We provide correctional services, including a corrections facility and work release center, and 24-hour a day patrol of suburban and rural areas, including timberlands and waterways areas. The Sheriff's Office patrols the unincorporated areas of the county, as well as several cities that have contracted with YCSO to provide law enforcement services.
In addition, YCSO has several specialized units including Marine Patrol, Rural/Woods Patrol, Street Crimes and Narcotics (SCAN) unit, and Special Investigation Unit (SIU). In addition, YCSO is a member of several multi-agency teams and task forces, including Domestic Violence Task Force (DVTF), Major Crimes Response Team (MCRT), Multi-Agency Traffic Team (MATT), and Multi-disciplinary Child Abuse Team (MCAT).
